I knew there was a reason I took this photo!

An early October evening in Pula, Sardinia, very much enjoying a bottle of Tonaghe Cannonau di Sardegna with dinner.

I'm a massive fan of trying local wines when i'm abroad (and it'd be rude not to!), and this deliciously soft, fruity red, jam-packed with tastes of ripe plums and blackberries, certainly didn't disappoint!!

This was a lovely glass of Prosecco on a trip down the Thames this summer. It was beautifully refreshing on a humid afternoon and went down a treat!

Enjoying a crafty Yarra Valley Chardonnay Viognier (Abbots Vale) in my kitchen with the other 'alf.....she took the pic.
The wine from Tesco wine on line, the glasses from Waterford crystal - and yes, they ARE bubbly glasses with still white, but that's just the way we roll

This was taken on holiday in Croatia. The nice bottle of red I'm holding was to be my dad's present...but we ended up toasting him in the picture and drinking it afterwards!

The picture I uploaded was taken in Budapest last year in February, when there was a lot of snow on the ground. My wife and I walked to a restaurant recommended by the concierge of the Corinthia Hotel, where we were staying so we could try an authentic Hungarian Goulash, which was served as a starter in individual ‘cauldrons’ with paprika handed separately for guests to spice it up to their taste. We accompanied this with a Cabernet Franc which carried forward to another traditional dish, the name of which I forget but it was rolled and stuffed pork garnished with orange (honest!) and potato croquettes.

This was taken on the Orient Express on our way to Venice. We went to celebrate my 50th birthday and it was amazing. By the time of the photo we had already had a couple of glasses of bubbly and were onto our bottle of red wine; for the life of me I can't remember what it was! Wonderful trip, wonderful food and wonderful wine.

Can one do better than 'en plein air' Sunday lunch of thirteen (a fishermans' dozen?) large fresh Brittany oysters taken from the Gulf of Morbihan that very morning and bought in the local street market almost a kilometer from source?

Taken with fresh bread straight from the village bakery and cool glass of white Bordeaux.

Simply superb.

As for the 'apres dejeuner' lie down? Well (it was later reported), one too many is the same as one to few _ _ mainly soporific.

This was taken in our good friends Bev & John's back garden at Wickham. They are always incredibly generous hosts and the red wine was flowing strongly all evening (true to form). This particular glass was really special - Tim Adams' 'The Aberfeldy' Shiraz. It exudes class, having that classic Shiraz spiciness but combined with absolute smoothness of finish - delightful!

Jingle all the way!

Whilst in the studio recording Christmas Album 'Santa Sings' - (Exclusive to Tesco's don't you know!) our producer decided that the vocals weren't quite jolly sounding enough, so out came a fine bottle of Rosemount plonk and the rest is magic! ...... No recording happens without a bottle of the fine stuff now! Happy Christmas and jolly drinking!!

Just supping another bottle of simply Chenin Blanc from Tesco. A crispy lemony fruit salad white wine from South Africa. Extremely well priced. Just tried to order some more on line but it is currently sold out. No wonder - it was on at a discount must have flewn off the shelves. I cropped the picture as there was a tesco box of empty wine bottles in the background! Evidence not yet destroyed. Not sure if I win the prize that it would last me a full year! Cheers Fiona from Scotland

our honeymoon - in Cape Town on the marina overlooking the water- the night before heading to the wine region for 4 days of wine tasting then safari. Perfect! We discovered Pinotage that trip. Still a favourite. That was 5 years ago before having 3 kids in under 18 months. (Yes it is possible!) Will be a while before we get to go wine tasting again...

<-- Not a happy bunny, lol! This is my 'big bottom lip' face, which was caused by my glass of cool Gallo White Zinfandel not magically refilling itself, lol. This is such an easy drinking wine-perfect with spicy food, grilled fish or chicken... or just on it's own. It's really crisp, fresh, fruity and vibrant, without being overpowering and I never tire of it.

I'm the one taking this picture so not actually in it, but this is was a leisurely (slightly too leisurely - we nearly missed the flight home!) lunch at the Groot Constantia wine estate near Cape Town in South Africa. I'd been doing some work at the World Cup venues (this was in the February before the World Cup). It was such a hot afternoon and this felt like the best rose in all the world, refreshing and fruity. When I got back to the UK with the bottles I'd bought they didn't seem quite the same, but they did bring a bit of summer to a cold evening...

After being made redundant in September, I undertook the SWET Level 2 course in Wine and Spirits. This rekindled my knowledge of wine and fired me to learn more. I live very close to three excellent English vineyards and did my own mini wine tour in early October in brilliant sunshine and warmth. I have previously visited vineyards in the Loire and Alsace and these English vineyards are just as interesting and geared up for a delightful visitor experience. This photo was taken at the Three Choirs vineyard in Gloucestershire. My favourites from these tasting wines were the Bacchus 2009 and the Classic Cuvee Non Vintage Brut. I have a bottle of the Bacchus ready for Christmas; it is a dry and highly aromatic wine with elderflower notes and a hint of herbs and nettle. Delicious. We'll be having this on Christmas Day with some smoked salmon!

This pic was taken on one of the mid-week ride-outs we do on our Harley Fatboy in aid of Gloucestershire Air Ambulance.
On a god night there can be hundreds of bikers all enjoying the ride, the chat and the chance to meet up with fellow bikers.
As I'm a pillion rider these days, I can certainly enjoy a long tall glass of whatever I fancy on those balmy summer evenings!
