Hi Puneeta, A nice crisp white wine goes well with spicy food. Tesco Finest Tingleup Riesling is maybe one to try. Also, have a read of Nick Juby's latest blog. He suggests trying rose instead of white. Thanks, Fiona
If you wanted to try a red with Indian food then I have found that The Casilero del Diablo Carmenere compliments the spices well.
Hey Puneeta,Would recommend an Alsace wines e.g. a Pinot Gris.Tesco has got some under the Tesco brand but would recommend the Trimbach or Humbrecht in Majestic. A bit pricier but worth it!CheersAhttp://tippletips.blogspot.com
Something with a bit of acidity or 'zing' on the palate – generally I think a tiny bit of sweetness helps too.Dr. L Riesling would be a nice affordable option:http://www.tesco.com/wine/product/details/default.aspx?searchBox=riesling&No=10&id=264016946This Tesco Finest Chenin Blanc would be excellent too, but it could depend if you mind serving a supermarket branded wine?http://www.tesco.com/wine/product/details/default.aspx?N=8130+4294967118&id=261531980Although not my first choice, a sauvignon blanc would pair well enough and it's probably the most widely appreciated wine grape these days. If it's a big wedding it could be a safe bet. Maybe something like this Chilean one:http://www.tesco.com/wine/product/details/default.aspx?No=10&N=8130+4294967138&id=267124272Most importantly – try the wine yourself before buying in bulk. Try it by itself, try it with a few foods, and then try it again another day to make sure.
