Not a club but just as much fun assembling your own cellar by buying just one bottle to start with. I recommend "The best wines in the supermarkets 2012". Although the guide is out in September the wines are still the same but at post-Christmas prices. The trick is to wait for your favourite or whatever to be on special offer , and that bargain becomes a superbargain. And those top-score wines do go down in price regularly
Happy hunting

Hi Chappers,
There is always the Tesco 'Wine by the Case' Subscriptions service: http://www.tesco.com/wine/WineSelect/ProductDetails/default.aspx?Name=New%20World%20Reds

If I were you, I'd stick with ST. I buy from Laithwaites which is also part of Direct Wines. But I'd try making up some custom cases to supplement your regular supply. I too am a fan of big reds and can recommend La Cantera (a 2003 Rioja type which is extremely good value) or Barón de Barbón Gran Reserva 2001 (a bit more expensive) or Trapiche Single Vineyard Malbec (a bit more expensive) or Paolo Monti Barolo 2007 (more still). What I really like about ST/LW is that they have wines for all budgets and if you like the really nice stuff, I find you get better value than from supermarkets. You could also try going to some of their events to try stuff too? Hope this helps.
